What information do you need to give a quote?
All that is needed is a brief description of the job, details of the horse(s) and the postcodes for the pick-up and the destination.

Why should I use Sarah Nash Transport if I can get a cheaper price elsewhere?
We always try to be competitive on price, but value for money is the key. Our lorry is a robust 7.5t vehicle. It is much safer than a smaller vehicle, but that safety comes at a cost in terms of more frequent maintenance and higher running costs. We are experienced, professional operators. We offer expert handling of both the horse and the vehicle. Your horse surely deserves no less?

Can you deal with a difficult horse?
Problem loaders are a speciality. Sarah takes the time to understand the problem and uses all her experience to give the horse the confidence to overcome the underlying fear. It is no good trying to force the horse to do anything. Even if you succeed, you then have the risk of an agitated passenger.

Are the stalls on the lorry adjustable?
Yes. The partitions are telescopic and removable, with plenty of padding (including overhead). We can adjust to accommodate a mare and a foal suckling in transit. We have often made room to carry a Suffolk Punch.

What about hygiene and cross contamination?
This is a vital issue. There is no wood in the lorry structure. We never mix tack and we dont provide travel boots because of infection risk (boots are not usually necessary anyway). The lorry is kept clean and tidy and regularly disinfected.

Do you use CCTV?
No. We dont think it helps. Sarah can sense what the horse is doing from the way the vehicle handles. There are driving techniques to settle the horse and ensure a smooth ride. The horse(s) can be checked visually during the journey but this is seldom necessary.

Do you provide help at shows?
Yes. Feel free to discuss any help you might need. Sarah can help tack up, read tests and so on.

Dont you need an HGV licence for the lorry?
The lorry is just below the weight for which an HGV licence is mandatory. However, HGV experience is useful. Sarah has held an HGV licence and has that HGV experience.
